Education

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University (FIU), where I gained a solid understanding of human behavior. I also completed a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from FIU, which helped me develop skills in supporting children and families.

I further pursued my passion for mental health by earning a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in trauma from Walden University.

Before transitioning into counseling, I taught for four years, where I worked closely with students and families, gaining valuable experience in understanding and addressing their emotional and psychological needs.

Biography

I was born and raised in Vero Beach, FL, and throughout my life, I’ve developed a deep passion for sports, travel, and helping others. As a former Division 1 athlete, I know firsthand the mental, emotional, and physical challenges that come with competing at a high level. My athletic experience has taught me the value of resilience, discipline, and mental strength—principles that I apply to my work as a mental health counselor.

I have a special love for women’s basketball, and I enjoy watching games whenever I can. The teamwork, dedication, and perseverance displayed on the court always inspire me.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy traveling, spending time with family, and trying different foods. Food, like travel, offers a unique way to connect with cultures and experience life in a meaningful way. I also find great joy in reading books, as it allows me to expand my knowledge and immerse myself in different perspectives and stories.

My passion for mental health grew out of my experiences as a teacher, where I witnessed many students and families struggling with emotional and psychological challenges. I realized that I could make a real difference by helping others navigate these difficulties, which inspired me to transition into counseling. I’m now dedicated to supporting individuals in overcoming trauma, building resilience, and achieving personal growth.

Helping others is at the core of who I am, and I am committed to empowering my clients to heal, grow, and thrive.

Theoretical Orientation

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice, a proven approach that helps individuals recognize and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors. CBT is highly effective for managing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other emotional challenges, empowering clients to make lasting changes and develop healthier ways of thinking and coping.

In addition to CBT, I also incorporate Inner Child Work in therapy. This approach helps individuals connect with and heal the wounded part of themselves that may have been impacted by early life experiences. By exploring these past hurts and nurturing the inner child, clients can resolve deep-seated emotional wounds, improve self-compassion, and foster a sense of wholeness and healing.

What’s a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern?

A Clinical Mental Health Registered Intern is a professional who has completed the required education and training to become a licensed mental health counselor but is still working under supervision to complete the necessary clinical hours for full licensure. While I am in this process, I work closely with a licensed supervisor to ensure I provide the highest quality of care and guidance to my clients.

I am fully trained and dedicated to providing compassionate, professional care. I bring a strong educational background of two master’s degrees and hands-on experience to my practice, and my commitment to your well-being is my top priority. You can trust that I will provide effective support as I work under supervision to ensure the best possible outcomes for you as we work together toward your healing and personal growth.
